Actually the colours chosen are quite nice and vibrant, but the too large and poufy sleeves with stripes that should also go lengthwise ruin it.

You know, narrow the sleeves, shorten the damn thing, and let it flare a bit at the bottom, and in lighter weight yarn … and it might be a cute coat for a teen over jeans or something. As it is? Tailoring nightmare. Some of these things are just fugly, but some of the worst ones take a half-decent idea and destroy it.
