Lionbrand Gets Political

The reason this is in as a “What Not to Crochet” is because well…

It’s just too funny not to draw your attention to it.

Ladies & Gentlemen,

 I give you:

 the Candidates for the

 **2008 US Presidential Elections !!!**

(Cue inspirational music!)

There are so many thngs to say…

How about :

“Ask not  what crochet can do for you, But what you can do for Crochet?”

And before you ask.. No, they haven’t done the Vice-President Nominees.

Which is sort of a pity actually, because, despite the fact it would be a God-awful WASTE of Yarn, to do a Crocheted Sarah Palin Finger Puppet

 it’s *such* a missed Bunny Foo-Foo opportunity!

  1. Sherry says:

OK… laughing my ass off… wish I’d had those when I went to the early voting booth. I would have worn them as earrings, one candidate on each side of my head… kinda like having an angel on one shoulder and a little devil on the other. Of course, opinions about which is which is left to the wearer.

  2. Eleanor (undeadgoat) says:

. . . You know what’s unrealistic about those puppets? John McCain can’t move his arms above his shoulders. Also, that generic black guy looks a lot less like Obama than the freaky Abraham Obama portraits which can be bought from a surprising amount of street artists in the French Quarter.

  3. Wolverine Girl says:

They’re remind me of the Potter Puppet Pals. Someone needs to do one of Snape or Voldemort. Actually it would have been fun to see some of our Aussie candidates from the last election. John Howard could have fun fur eyebrows :P and I’d love to see one of Kevin Rudd.

  4. pink77punk says:

just for that comment, I am going to crochet a Sarah Palin finger puppet, and post it on my blog.

    take that, WNTC!!!!!!

    evil partisan laughter………

  5. Kimberly says:

@Wolverine Girl: There are patterns for Snape AND Voldemort finger puppets! :-)

And I don’t think these puppets quite live up to WNTC standards. They’re cute and great for kids (or adults doing their own SNL updates). ;-)

I WILL be crocheting these two for my fingers!

  6. patty says:

You just had to stick a jab in there about Sarah…….geeezzz… isn’t anybody else fed up with this anti-woman nonsense.

    – Hillary 2010

  7. Cindy (maxfun) says:

Aw, come on. A Sarah Palin finger puppet would be cool — as long as it graced the correct finger, if ya know what I mean!

And I’m not anti-woman (after all, I am one), but I am anti-female-political-puppets, which is what Sarah Palin is. Hmm, another good reason to make a finger puppet of her!

    Knitters (crocheters, too) for Obama/Biden!

  8. tzopilotl says:

…we have several stores in town that sell finger puppets,
pink rabbits, green crocs, red spidermen, brown changos,
guacamayas, the women in southern villages make them,
maybe chiapas but they always say ecuador to give an
out-of country cachet to them, two-handed theatre can’t
be beat, and if it suddenly turns cold, you’re tipped off.
