Tentacle fringe…oh so lovely! And looking like a squid…the look we’re all after I’m sure! The model is desperately trying to hide too…can’t blame her! Tentacle fringe over one eye is so appealing too… Can you believe this hat made the cover of a magazine? Yikes! And what’s with the strings hanging off the sides? So wrong in so many ways.
Thanks to one of our new readers, Maryann, for the submission!

At least the fringe will hide your face so you won’t be recognized!

Yeah, but NO colour in this solar system could make it possibly look any better.
Even after you remove the fringe and the stringy things, it would still have to aspire to be questionable.

I sort of liked this hat when I first saw it, but not enough to waste money on the mag. It’s just not squid-y enough!

Um, gag.

1. She had to put her hand up fetchingly – can you imagine what it would look like if she just stood up straight with her arms to her sides? Her nice smile says, “Yeah, I know. I never saw anything like this before either!”
2. Gray with browns? I don’t think so.

Heh…dus7 you DO have a point. Standing there at attention,
she’d bring thoughts of the scarecrow from OZ to mind.
Also..most hats are worn during inclimate weather, imagine
it soaking wet and stringing down her face like a wet sheepdog pup atop her head…and she’s a gorgeous model, the rest of
us on a hectic day…well, I don’t wanna think about it.
Oh..and I’m always looking for “stashbuster” patterns.
This ain’t it kiddies. Imagine the florescent lime green, paired with that perky bright orange for fringe!
A yarn emetic.

Kat-Z–great idea–do the hat in solid brown with yellow fringe and you’ll be off to see the wizard at Halloween!

That fringe looks like a really bad wig.

People actually have time to do this, says Rebecca?

If we start now Flo, we can avoid that Halloween rush!

Hey, you used my favorite submission. Yay! I feel all important now. ^-^
You know what’s sad? How closely it misses being a nice hat. This is a good example of how easy it is to foul something up when it could be nice. It’s like some people just have to crochet *more*, even on items where less is *clearly* more.
A checked winter cap in cream and sienna with tan trim? Good. A long, pointy checked winter cap with a strange pom-pom on the end and long squid fringe all over your face? Bad.
So tragic…

woah, what a hat! I wish I could crochet.

Looks like she’s got her persian cat tangled in the hat and didn’t notice before she put it on.

I actually know people who would love them. And wear them. Of course, they also ingest illicit substances, too.

Do the hat in yellow, the fringe in orange, and you are well on your way to having a clown costume!
